March 5 post

Just another bigot in the Republican party—Ann Coulter, the controversial “journalist” (remember journalist is also title of those who write for National Enquirer)/columnist, has landed herself in hot water again. Was it because she called Muslim’s “ragheads?” No, that was so 2001. Was it because she told 9/11 widows to get over themselves? No, that was so 2005. No, extra, extra read all about it, John Edwards is a “f....ot,” well at least according to Ann Coulter. Coulter made the remark during a speech at the American Conservative Union’s Political Action Conference. She has also accused the Edward’s campaign as being a front for Arab terrorists. Conservatives have quickly moved to denounce her remarks. Why is it always republicans that have such intolerant bigots in their party? To be fair, we Democrats have our nutcases, but at least we typically include all regardless of physical, emotional, or mental problems as well as the usual race, sex, religion, sexual orientation etc....

Just another car bombing in Baghdad—20 people died when a car bomb went off in a book market today in Baghdad . Long ago, the market was a place where intellectuals gathered, but now it is a smoldering heap of burned out stalls and the charred remains of paper. The fire caused by the bomb took longer to put out due to all the paper from print shops and book stalls. Don’t hurt books and those that read them! (That would make a good bumper sticker)

Just another denial in a long line of denials— Japan ’s PM Shinzo Abe has again insisted that the Japanese government will not apologize for its use of sexual slaves during WWII. The US House is currently considering a non-binding resolution that would ask for Japan to take clearer responsibility for its enslavement of up to 200,000 women, mostly Chinese and Korean. Japan did somewhat apologize in 1993, but has refused to take full responsibility. Japan ’s current conservative PM Abe has even gone so far as to say that these women were not coerced. He later retracted those statements. In my opinion, which I so freely give in my news you can use, the Japanese government’s denial of its use of sexual slaves (coerced by it or traders etc..) during WWII is the same as someone denying the holocaust happened—both viewpoints deeply disturbing and disgusting.

Just another FEMA screw up—
Residents of a FEMA trailer park in Hammond, Louisiana were forced to evacuate the trailer park after mounting problems with raw sewage and lack of electricity. The co-owner of the site blames FEMA for not paying the bills on time, but FEMA blames the co-owner. While the two battle it out, Families living in the 58 units were moved to other sites around the area. Two years on after hurricane Katrina and we “cattle” are still being herded around a grassless prairie by a really ignorant cowboy.

This is your news you can use... enjoy.
